250 kVA Prime Doosan Diesel Generator Set

250 kVA Prime Doosan Diesel Generator Set

Another EA Power Doosan diesel generator set is on its way to its new home.

Our latest delivery features a 250 kVA Prime Power / 275 kVA Standby Power diesel generator set, powered by a Doosan P126TI-II engine and coupled to a Stamford alternator. Pictured being collected by the carrier, this generator has been configured with additional protection and auxiliary equipment to meet the specific requirements of the customer's installation.

250 kVA Doosan Powered Diesel Generator

At the heart of this generator set is the proven Doosan P126TI-II industrial diesel engine. The engine is a four-cycle, water-cooled and turbocharged unit with direct fuel injection, providing a reliable power source for demanding commercial and industrial applications.

Operating at 400 V and 50 Hz, the generator provides 250 kVA Prime Power, with a standby rating of 275 kVA, making it suitable for applications where dependable electrical power and long-term reliability are essential.

The Doosan engine is coupled to a Stamford brushless alternator, providing a robust engine and alternator combination that has been widely used across our generator range.

Bunded Base Fuel Tank

This particular generator has been supplied with an integrated bunded base fuel tank. Incorporating the fuel storage within the generator base provides a compact and practical solution while reducing the requirement for a separate external fuel tank.

The bunded construction also provides an additional level of protection by containing potential fuel leakage within the generator base.

Additional Electrical Protection and Equipment

To meet the requirements of this project, the generator has been configured with earth fault protection, adding another layer of electrical protection to the complete installation.

An earthed jacket water heater is also fitted to the generator. The heater helps maintain the engine coolant at a suitable temperature while the generator is on standby, supporting reliable starting when the generator is called upon to operate.

A battery charger maintains the starting battery while mains power is available, helping ensure that the generator remains ready for operation when required.

Together, these features contribute towards creating a dependable standby and prime power package designed around the customer's application.

Automatic Transfer Switch with Mechanical Interlock

Accompanying the diesel generator is a 3-pole Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) with mechanical interlock.

The ATS provides automatic transfer between the normal mains electrical supply and the generator supply. In the event of a mains power failure, the generator control system can initiate the start sequence and allow the installation to transfer to generator power.

Once the mains supply has been restored and stabilised, the system can transfer the load back to the mains supply before allowing the generator to complete its cooling-down cycle.

The mechanical interlock provides physical protection against the mains and generator switching devices being closed simultaneously, helping ensure safe and controlled transfer between the two power sources.

Ready for Delivery

With the final checks completed, this 250 kVA Prime Power Doosan generator set is now being collected by the carrier and heading to its destination.

Projects like this demonstrate that generator supply is about more than simply selecting the required kVA rating. Fuel capacity, electrical protection, engine preheating, battery maintenance, automatic transfer arrangements and site-specific requirements all contribute to creating the right power solution.

At EA Power Systems, we supply diesel generator sets ranging from standard configurations to customised packages designed around individual project requirements.
