At EA Power, our generator canopies are designed in-house by our engineering team, allowing us to continuously improve our products according to real-world customer and project requirements. The Compact Line follows the same engineering philosophy, with particular attention given to reducing the overall dimensions and weight of the generator enclosure without compromising generator performance, accessibility or build quality.
One of the main objectives behind the Compact Line was to optimise the dimensions of our enclosed diesel generator sets for transportation.
Shipping generators internationally can represent a significant part of the overall project cost, particularly when multiple generating sets are required. By carefully reviewing the dimensions and arrangement of the canopy, base frame and internal components, our engineers developed a more space-efficient enclosure that allows more generator sets to be accommodated within a standard shipping container.
For smaller models up to 15 kVA, the Compact Line canopies are also designed to be stackable, helping make even better use of available container space.
This compact approach can help reduce shipping requirements and simplify handling while maintaining the functionality expected from a high-quality enclosed diesel generator set.
Reducing dimensions does not mean reducing build quality. Compact Line canopies are manufactured from galvanised steel and finished with a high-quality powder coating, providing a durable enclosure designed to protect the generator and its components.
The canopy incorporates fire-resistant acoustic insulation, helping reduce generator noise while providing additional protection within the enclosure. A residential-grade exhaust silencer with rain cap is also integrated into the design.
Accessibility was an important consideration throughout the development process. Lockable access doors are positioned on both sides of the canopy and fitted with rubber weatherstrips, allowing engineers convenient access to the generator for routine inspection, servicing and maintenance.
A viewing window allows the control panel to be checked without opening the enclosure, while an externally accessible emergency-stop push button provides straightforward operation when required.
The cooling-system water filling point is accessible from the top of the canopy, further simplifying routine maintenance.
Each Compact Line enclosure also incorporates practical handling features including forklift pockets and dedicated lifting points, making positioning, loading and unloading easier.
Compact Line generator sets are supplied with an integrated base fuel tank, helping maintain the compact overall footprint of the complete generating set while providing a practical fuel supply arrangement.
Combining the fuel tank, generator base and acoustic enclosure into a carefully engineered package results in a diesel generator that is easier to transport, position and integrate into a wide range of applications.
