72 dBA at 7 Metres: How We Delivered Silent Power to a Luxury Indian Ocean Resort

Powering a luxury resort demands "silent" reliability. Guests expect the sound of waves, not industrial hum. A noisy generator damages brand experience, invites complaints, and may violate local environmental regulations. Yet most suppliers treat noise as an afterthought, adding basic canopies that provide minimal attenuation.

We recently solved this challenge for an Indian Ocean resort by installing specialised sound attenuators on 3 x 1100 kVA Cummins sets. By engineering the plant room walls and custom exhaust systems, we achieved a reduction to 72 dBA at 7 metres-meeting luxury hospitality standards while maintaining full power capacity.
